Driveways & RV Pads
We pour at the thickness and reinforcement the load actually calls for — typically four inches for standard vehicles, and five to six inches with rebar where RVs, trailers, or work trucks will sit. The sub-base is compacted before a single yard is placed, and control joints are cut to a plan so any cracking goes where we put it.
Patios
A patio should drain away from your home and feel level underfoot. We form, pour, and finish patios with correct slope, consistent broom or troweled texture, and clean transitions into existing hardscape. Decorative options including stamped and exposed-aggregate finishes are available.
Walkways & Steps
Walkways, sidewalks, and steps get the same attention as the large pours: consistent width, even risers, proper slope for runoff, and a finish that stays slip-resistant when wet. We tie new work into existing concrete so the seams read as intentional.

At valley elevations a driveway contends with deicing salt and roughly a hundred freeze-thaw cycles a year. Higher up, slabs cycle far more often and frequently sit on a grade that demands thicker reinforcement and engineered drainage. We mix, reinforce and cure for the elevation we are pouring at.

How thick should a concrete driveway be in Utah?
Four inches over a properly compacted sub-base handles standard passenger vehicles. If an RV, trailer, dump run or loaded work truck will sit on it, we pour five to six inches with rebar. Thickness without base prep is wasted money, because the sub-base is what decides whether a slab lasts.
Why does concrete crack, and can it be prevented?
All concrete cracks. A good contractor decides where. We cut control joints to a plan so shrinkage follows our lines instead of running randomly across your driveway. Random cracking usually traces back to skipped base compaction, no reinforcement, or joints cut too late.
How long before I can drive on new concrete?
Foot traffic after 24 to 48 hours. Passenger vehicles after 7 days. Heavy vehicles, RVs and trailers after 28 days, when the slab reaches full design strength. We walk you through the first 30 days of care at the final walkthrough.
What is the best time of year to pour concrete in Utah?
Late spring through early fall at valley elevations. Higher up the window is shorter on both ends, and we protect pours against overnight lows well into spring and early in fall. We do not pour into a hard freeze without protection anywhere.
Does concrete at higher elevation need to be built differently than in the valley?
Yes. Higher elevation means more freeze-thaw cycles per season, so air entrainment and curing discipline matter more. Mountain lots also tend to run on a grade, which usually means thicker slabs, more reinforcement, and drainage planned before a single form goes up.
Do you seal new concrete?
Curing comes first and is not optional. Sealing is optional and best done after the slab has cured, typically at 28 days or later. At valley elevations, where deicing salt and freeze-thaw scaling are real risks, a quality sealer is worth it.
What does concrete cost in Utah?
It depends on thickness, reinforcement, access, excavation, and whether the area needs regrading for drainage. We give a no-obligation on-site proposal after measuring the area and checking grade, so the number you get reflects your actual site rather than a square-foot average.
